I come out of work yesterday morning, walked up to the parking lot to get on my bike and noticed a very bald spot on my rear tire, I roled the bike forward and the rest of the tire was fine, just about 1/8" thred left, but the spot in question the tread was completly flat, WTF? I have not slide the tire ant, nor have I just sat there and burned the tire off, I have spun it a "couple" of times. but anyway I drove the bike home, and the old lady was not there , so I decided to go for a ride. I ended up at the dealership having a new rear tire installed, it seemed to worry me the whole time, and to cure my worries I had it changed. The guys at the dealship went out of there way to get me in and out fast knowing that I had worked all night. I managed to sneeak out and ride another 100 miles afterwards.
I thought I should of gotten more miles out of the tire, I had planned on changing it at the end of the summer due to the fact I ride year round and wanted to start the wet/cold season with new rubber.
The tire might of made it another 500 to 1000 miles but it bothered me because of the bald spot on the tire, it was clearly much futher gone than the rest of the tire.
