I am thinking about purchasing an SERG. I can get one for 26k + tx and tags. I know it is a great price, but since they are not going to be making the RG after 09, will that hurt the value of the bike? I know we buy them to ride them, but I also do not like to get crushed with a bike depreciating rapidly either. Any thoughts?
If your talking an 09 thats a hell of a deal most dealers my dad looked at in and around ohio when he bought his in may were cpl grand over msrp. he found his for msrp and loves it.
If its the last true original serg it should increase the price.
Don't think '09 being the last year will hurt resale in the long run. Generally speaking, all of the CVO's hold their resale pretty well. With that said, there's a reason why HD is considering discontinuing them and that's most likely due to lack of customer interest and sales. The RG's just aren't as appealing to most as the Ultra's. RK's and Street Glides; not that they are bad bikes cause there not but they just don't have the same market share and many dealers don't even have them in inventory. I'd say if you like it....get it. You will definitely have a rare breed in the long run and that may help the bike hold it's value....will most likely be a little more "exclusive" than some of the other CVO's. Good luck.
PS. Rumor has it there will be a CVO Street Glide for 2010. This is going to be a hot model if that's your cup of tea...
they will still be making Road Glides -- due to the recent popularity of them you will have a choice of two versions -- one like an Ultra the other like a SG---
you will always go wrong if you purchase any recreational vehicle for future value--to include a SERG -- get it cause you want it and can afford not for future value

well I had my choice of an orange one or Silver. I personally like the silver one so picked that. 25km AND I got a 150.00 gift card! I pick it up Friday or Saturday. They had to trade up to get me silver. Cannot wait to get it.....
