Default Fork oil issue

I have a 2008 CUSE3. I had it lowered 1" front and back when it was new. The bike is 27 months old with 53,000+ miles. I am headed to the smokey's in August so I desided to do some major service. New rear tire, brakes & rubber isolators. New front tire, brakes, fork oil and neck bearing adjustment. The 2008 service manual states to put 319ml. of fork oil in each fork. I removed the drain plug and top cap on each fork and let it drain over night. I pumped the forks several times to be sure they were empty. I replaced the drain plug with new ones, measured 300ml and started slowly pouring it in through the top. Both sides over flowed at 300ml. I cleaned up the mess and replaced the top caps on both forks. I pumped the forks several times and they seem fine. My question is is there another amount of fork oil for lowered forks? Is 300ml going to be ok? Thanks, Ben

I think the required amount the same regardless of the 1" lowering on not. A good dealer would know, Harley offers a 1" lowering kit for most their bikes and they would have the new specs.

I thought that the amount would be the same as well but a friend said to lower it puts more slider is in the lower fork therefore less room for oil. Any way I went with what I got in with the over flow and have already ridden 500 miles this weekend. I had a couple of hard braking events and no problems. The bike is much smoother than it was before. I will be headed to the smokey's next month. Got my fingers crossed. Thanks, Ben

I can,t believe no one can tell me the correct amount of fork oil required for forks that have been lowered 1" on a 2008 ultra classic cuse3.

If you don't have any luck with a dealer, try Progressive Suspension www.progressivesuspension.com or Traxxion www.traxxion.com both make motorcycle suspension systems and should be able to answer your question.
