Default new 110" real hot!

went for a trip this weekend with some people I ride with one of them has a new 110" and it was overheating badly droping oil pressure in 44-46 weather the oil at one point was actualy boiling in the crankcase smelled like we were cooking it in a frying pan. Eny one had a similer problem? bikehas about 1300 miles. Do the oil coolers have a thermostat in them? And how does a air cooled motor run that hot in cool weather?

My bike dosent have that problem but I also do not have a way to check the oil temp! scary! I have about 1200mi so for. I will check the oil temp with a thu
thermal gun or what ever they are called, the weather here right now is around 80 plus degrees. I have the softail springer cvo.

I am having similar problems with my Ultra 110. It overheats quickly if you idle too long. I was in Galveston at the Lone Star Rally this weekend with temperatures in the 70's when it overheated on me. I plan on taking it in to have it looked at soon.

These new 110 motors run really lean in factory form. I was having a ton of problems with my bike running too hot before I bought the SERT and richened up the fuel a bit plus I enabled the engine idle temperature management system. I have not had it overheat on me since. I should have the DTT Wego IID next week which will allow me to tune the bike to whatever AFR I want. I will most likely tune it to 13.8 and see how much better she runs. In addition, the new rineharts should be installed in the next couple of weeks which will eliminate the crossover pipe and kill all the heat it generates.

Yes, I had a 2007 S\E Ultra that ran hot plus vibration problems. I sold a perfect 2004 S\E E\G to buy it. I just sold the 2007 and wen back to a 2005 S\E E\G that I love. Too many problems for 35,000.00.

Yeah, I would say it is running so lean it is way overtemped. Have a similar problem w/the Hendersons. The SuperXTuner got them into the right zone, they run cooler and much more stable, too.

I had this problem with my 2007 SEUC and when I took her in for her 1000 mile service they told me the head gasket on the rear cylinder was bad and they have to replace the engine. I am currently waiting for the engine to come in and have my bike back. I also decided while it was down awaiting a new engine that it is the perfect time to have the Rinehart True Duels/ SERT/ and SE/AC added. The first indication I had was the badge on the rear head yellowed at around 700 miles from the excessive heat.

I have an FLHRSE3 on order, due in a couple of weeks, and if true the engine runs a little warm, given I ride year round at 9000ft. in the Rockies, this is a bonus... especially if some of the heat can warm me up as well.

If you buy an SERT, will the dealer richen up the fuel delivery for you? I read a few posts on using the SERT, and it looks fairly complicated.
