I am picking up a CVO RG on Monday but I keep looking back at the CVO SG. I have owned a Heritage Softtail and an Electra Glide Ultra. What, outside of the obvious (fairing), is the difference between the two? Thanks for your thoughts.
Welcome to the forum and congratz on your new purchase, whichever one you buy. The differences I know of is the stereo on the SG, supposed to be kick azz, and the RG has the blacked out treatment. Spending that kind of money think I would choose the one i wanted and to heck with everyone else, although the 2011 SERGU in gray/black would satisfy several of my fantasies, lol. Have fun with your new ride.
I just went through the same dilemma, I ended up with the RG. the more I read about both bikes the more I thought the RG was a better long ride bike. The fairing may be less susceptible to wind on the highway. The wind protection seems a little better on the RG. The RG is a little lighter weight and may be a bit better handling because of the aforementioned.
At any rate they are both very nice bikes and you can't go wrong with either one.
I just picked mine up yesterday so I can't really give you any ride report. Good luck.
The Street Glide has lowers also that the RG does not. The RG is less expensive. If you debate this much longer, you will get to see the new CVOs in a few weeks...
I like the gloss black RG treatment, but I still prefer chrome.
Certainly, there are worse decisions to wrestle with in life!

I didn't know. There's a difference between stereos?
