The George Allen works great and I have used them. However they will not work if you put the detachable kit on. If you install a detachable kit you can take a zizwheel and remove the spot weld on rear of bracket and dress edges up. After doing this you can slide tourpack back...I went back 1 1/2 inches. Drill two new holes in detachable bracket to line up with front mounting holes in trunk. Use existing rear mounting holes in detachable bracket to line up and drill 2 new holes through tourpack. My wife is pretty small but complained about being cramped on CVO. She is fine on my 2008 Ultra. I think part of the issue is the thick backrest with the lumbar support. You would think that with all the R&D Harley does this would not being an issue. Like I said my wife is pretty small!! 1 1/2 inches does not seem like much but she said it made it much more comfortable to her.

I started using the front backrest as well when I was taking passengers as they were getting pushed up against me too much. It's ok if it's your wife but anyone else it doesn't feel right...

I went with the Kuryakyn on my'13 ultra cvo. Just got it back today as I had it installed with the regular service. I like the fact that I just loosen 4 cams by hand and can slide it into any position. There are no preset depth adjustments so you have the full range of motion to play with

Purchased my 13 cvo August 28th last year. I made it almost to the stop sign before my wife said to stop. She walked back to the house. HD installed a Kury. Relocation kit that afternoon. I tried to move the tour pak. No go. My dealer took care of it. We never discussed the kit again.

I have 2013 cvo and have installed a new one called the comfort rider it was very easy to install comes with all you need moves back 3 4 or 5 inches I have found that with an adjustable back rest it takes another 1 1/2 out with the comfort rider I can make everything work wife loves it and there is no modification to bike in fact it states it will fit 09 to 13 all touring inc detachable racks and trikes and rear mounted amp with no modification it's the best I have seen on market after extensive research the web site for it is www.comfortrider.net and its only 179.95 and they ship free
