Default Rev limit

I have checked passed threads and the newest is 2010 that address this. I have just purchased a 13 ultra cvo and have about 125 miles on it. Today, i decided to go thru the gears to some degree and found out that the engine starts to break up around 5500 rpms. Do these engines have a rev limiter in them, as i remember my old 2009 ultra classic with a 96 motor in it revved higher or never actually broke up while going thru the gears. Everything is stock on my bike right now...love the bike so far.

Well, its not a good idea to rev a new engine past 3000 rpm till you got about 500m+ on it. Once its broken in, your torque curve flattens out from around 2200 rpm to about 5000.

I had my bike exhaust, header, Stage 1 and SERT. My compression release was turned off in the process so they hooked it up to the computer to turn back on. While he was there I asked him what the rev limit was set at and when he told me 6200 I asked him to drope it back to 5500 which he did. There is no reason for me to be running it that hard past red line.
