Default Road Glide Seat Question

All you guys that have a 2012-2013 CVO Road Glide how do you like the seat and passenger pillion? I have a 2012 FLHX with a sundowner, wife likes, I don't too tall and wide for me. Was looking at a Mustang wide tripper and passenger pillion, this seat looks a lot like the Mustang. Just wondering how comfortable it was for both front and rear.

IMO the stock 12-13 CVO RG seat looks great and is ok for short rides. I rode my factory seat from DFW to Fayetteville when I first got it and is was really, really bad! My backside was numb and my back killed me constantly. We did 1200 miles in 3 days and was really glad to get home. I did some research, talked to several guys, and sent my seat off to Auto Original, Farmington, NM ( ask for Seth) and he re-worked the seat. He added gel, memory foam, water resistant cover, rider backrest, and kept the same profile. It worked GREAT! For me.( see pic)

I put 8,000 miles on my 12 And had no issue with the seat. I took off the pillion seat and passenger pegs as my wife does not ride. I'm 6'3" and 220.

Switched it out for a Hammock.

I've put some 400 mile days on my 2012 CVO solo seat and found it to be pretty comfortable. I've got the matching pillion on order, so we'll have to see how my partner likes it. She's a little more discriminating about ride comfort than I am.

Tell me more about your rider backrest. I did not know one was available for our bikes. I removed my stock seat and replaced it with the seat I used previously from a 2011 CVO street glide. Like it a lot but maybe I should give the stocker a try. I like the look. Part numbers for the rider and passenger backrest pads? Is the rider backrest assembly custom?

I just reread the posts and see that Seth at Auto Original did the backrest work. Did he make the backrest pads as well?
