I bought a 2014 CVO Road King about a month ago and love it. I love the hydraulic clutch, too, but what's this about the clutch issue?? Please clue me in if you would as I just got the bike and this is the first I've heard of this. Thanks!
Sandi,
You need not worry about the hydraulic clutch. This was an issue with all the bikes made with the hydraulic clutch in the 2014 model year. At issue, the clutch wasn't able to engage enough lift to get the bike in or our of a gear... I think it was more of a downshift thing.
The recall was issued some time ago. I researched this as I was in the final steps of the purchase process.
The recall that went to the dealers also had a "Do not Ride" and "Do not Deliver" notice for any bikes with a hydraulic clutch until properly serviced at the dealership before it could leave the lot... LEGALLY.
Thanks for your post and the information about the hydraulic clutch issue on the 2014 CVO Road Kings, Mike. Yes, that does give me peace-of-mind. I appreciate your quick response. And I have to add that I've really grown to like that clutch. Weird at first but now I find it great--super consistent. Sandi
One trip back and forth from the dealer ended the first 50 mile break-in period.
That's a nice bike and I really like the color (yes in person it really looks better then pics) as I was torn between it and my current ride. Good luck with it.
