Ok so it is a 1 owner 35 year old bike. It has after market pipes and replaced front rim because he bent the original rim which he showed me that it looks like it was 35 years old.3 inches of garage dust.
It is in 35 year old AMF 99.9 original, original condition with really nice original paint.
The clock shows 11,000 miles and I believe it. It was bought at the same location as I bought my last 3 new Harleys at Harves Harley.
He mentioned he didn't know or remember why his 1979 super glide had a 80CI.
when all others had 1200cc motors.
Looking at the Vin and decoding it, It is a FXEF Not an FXE... F is for Fatbob so it is a 1979 Superglide Fatbob.
The Engine, frame and registration all match.

Looks pretty good. Mostly original. It looks like the starter relay was replaced with a blue one. The FXEF was a poor man's FXS Low Rider. The difference was the FXS had a kicker, a 2 over front end and more chrome and rear struts that had black inserts. The FXS also had a short sissybar and an oil cooler and a finned piece of plastic on the front part of the air cleaner. You should be happy with it, not too many untouched FX's around.

what a great find. $4,500 seems like a good price to get from an original owner in that condition. have fun with it.

in 79 they had both 74" and 80" versions of most of the FX bikes.
