Yea...start that!!!!
I like the Bendix on a Stocker...but, I am running a CV on a "Geezer Glide" that suits me well too...S&S??? I use one on my dragbike!!!
LOL yeah I figured that might start an argument but I figured I'd see what everybody thought.
I've seen a lot of guys have super E's on shovels so that's why I was wondering
Walk thru the Pits at the Harley drags...they All gots 'em.
My Street bike don't need one...Might look Bad Azz tho!!!!
Lots of guys buy the S&S type air cleaner. Cheap way to "cool". and...that style air box works pretty darn well also....with a K&N into it.

Right on man thanks for all the info. I'll keep this in mind on my build
Believe it or not...Some folks can actually tune the stock Keihin butterfly carb...if the throttle shaft hasn't worn too badly...While I don't prefer them...They are an option...and some guys will have Stock or nothing...
Betting if people spent the Time on the Ka-Sneeze that some of 'em spend on the S&S, alot more folks would be runnin them!!!
Alright well thanks guys. What about carb for an old shovel. Is s&s best or a harley carb
S&S are really popular, cuz they're easy to tune. Although they'll often "cough". Super-E models are common for daily riders, the long (sticks out farther) Super-B models...they sit on long throats...stick out way farther. Common for more performance oriented setups. There are also Super-G's...for big bore/stroked setups.
Some guys I know that are patient and really **** about their Shovels...run Mikunis...and love 'em. Buddy of mine has the best sounding Shovel I've ever heard...idles so nicely, low, never stalls on him, runs like a raped ape..he's got a Mikuni on it.

Alright what would be the easiest to tune and best running if there is such a thing

A Bendix!
Tho the Mikuni Flatslide is said to be pretty much Plug and play...
BTW I love the guys that idle the bike down to a very slow Potato, Potato...
Eat that bottom end right up boys...wonder how much oil is getting to the engine internals at 800RPM's????
Keeps shops in business!!!!!
