Default Slab Shovel Idenification Help

I just got this scoot about a week ago, it is titled as a "special build", I am trying to figure out who the manufacture of the crakecase is. has anyone ever seen this make/type? I have googled the MG that is on the case but still have not came up with any information, there are NO other markings on the case.

I think you need to post this over in the knuckle section. Do see the ribs in the case that go all the way up to the cylinder base? this was done on the older (i believe 41 and up knuckles). Some one must have converted the older Knuckle/Pan with a shovel top end....

Get another tank and it'll look real nice....

That and "Special Construction" means it could be absolutely Anything...Including a UJM!!!
On Generator Shovels..the best external "clue" is the Oil Pump.
Steel body on '66-'67 and Aluminum on '68-'69.

As previously mentioned, the steel body oil pump narrows it down to 1966 or 1967.

Here another way to zero in to the actual yr of your scooter. If the heads are original matching set of HD heads. Check the casting date. You can find them on the right side of each head, top horizontal fin, where the fin is recessed behind the pushrod tubes. You should see one or two digits, a small space then two digits. This'll be the month and yr the heads were casted. Rule of thumb, it the date starts at 4 65 or up to an earlier 67 months they should be for a 1966 shovel, if the date is 4 66 to earlier 68, they should be for a 67 shovel. If the dates match on both heads, they are a mated pair.
As for the cases, I can't help you.

Found the numbers on the heads, both heads have 6 77
I also found the case number on the R/S 151 3999, I have also posted in the knuckle forum, I believe the bottom end to be early 50s. but trying to verify.

He has this posted in a couple of sections. If you look at some pics of the left side of the case you can see that the original chain oiler (which ran through the case) has been re-routed to use as a rear chain oiler. That was not used in 66-67 models. They were using a by-pass off the outer pump cover.

K...that lower belly number tell you that the right case is 1951 ("-51")
