Exhaust sound

Put on an old set of long upswept fishtails that had been on the shelf for a few years and they sound terrible. I remember these being really loud and sounding good. Now it sounds like you're hearing only one cylinder even though it's running really good on both and kind of high pitched. Get some lope at idle and a little gurgling when I let off the throttle but other than that its just one loud sound. Would a crossover help ? really like the looks of these but the sound just sucks. (or maybe my ears just got a little older)

I have heard more than one set of fishtails that sound horrible...I have never understood why.

Shovels do not like long pipes like that, plays hell with the carburetion.

I installed 29" fishtails on my '75 FLH. Had no issues with them other than way too loud. Installed baffles, bike sounds better and seems to run even better.

These are all one piece. I was thinking of trying some "chore boys" with a bolt through them cause with the fishtails I can't get a regular baffle in.
