Default Engine Paint

1971 FLH
Sorry if I'm being a pain but want to do things right.
It appears the jugs should be silver and the heads black. Is that correct and what would be the recommended paints? Anything has to be better than the galvanized paint that is on there and a lot of other parts.
Thanks for any help.

COAX, Thanks for the info . I don't have a manual yet but am looking and that is why I'm asking as I don't know.
My last shovel was a ridged on D&D frame so I didn't care about being correct with anything. I want this one to be as close to stock as I can make it.

no 1971 is silver jugs and the rest of the engine and trans are natural alloy

I restored this 1971 some 5 years ago and its the highest scoring AMF shovel in the AMCA still today

JZ Nice looking bike, I hope to have mine look a little like that but just for the street.
? I understood that the '71 was the first year for the AMF logo to be on the tank also.

Also: would there be any differences in the engine paint schemes on an A2 model?

No the first time it appears in early 1972 as it was a add on sticker by the dealers in the field - they AMF bought Harley in 1969 but did not finish paying for it till the end of 1971 - reason for the add on sticker

when AMFs influence in the engine development came along in 1973 the jugs were painted black = they had gone from side oil lower unit to an end oil unit and added that color change at the same time
