I've attached a photo of the cable and attachment to the frame.
There is approximately 1/4" clearance between the cable and top of the pie.
The cable mount is welded to the frame and doesn't appear to be bent.
Thanks for your insight.
She is a kicker/electric start.
Yea... it looks correct at that angle... and as I suspected the late model 4-speed frame had that cable support as a weldment... prolly started about the time the Horn mount got welded on the left downtube, and the Board mount was eliminated on the Superglide right side..
Don't let me scare ya.. it just looked like the cable was rubbing the Top, long as it ain't... Don't let my petty BS trouble ya... Put 'er back together and have ya some fun!!!
The angle really made it look F'ed up but as Racepres said it looks like it should in the 2nd pic.
There are some different bracket combos out there. My late 79 has a welded horn with bolted clutch
Interesting... is it an FL or an FX? if FX does it have the right side board mount?
I'm starting to think the FL had the board Mount but, not the Horn Mount and the FX vise a vis...
Just for my Curiosity
The pipes are CCS.
They are at ccschoppers.com.
One thing I did with them was, I did a double wrap of the insulation fabric on them because when I first got the bike they only had a single wrap and when you were waiting at a stop light or in clutch-and-go traffic, your thigh would get so hot you could smell bacon frying. The double wrap cured that problem completely.
