Okay, Here's a Poll for Y'all.....
Other than the normal hand tools and general doodads we keep around for Maintenance, What, in everyone's learned opinion, are the must-have HD Specific Tools that the discerning Shovelhead owner needs to start collecting. that will get semi-regular use, you know... Clutch pullers and Special nut driver sockets stuff. What say you all.......
Clutch hub puller
1-1/2" socket for compensator
Curved 9/16" wrench for head bolts
9/16" tourqe adapter for head bolts
Tappet block alignment tool
Spanner wrench for neck nut
Safety wire pliers
Snap ring pliers
Chain breaker
This is assuming you have a well stocked mechanics set already along with drills, taps, cutting & grinding equipment etc.
I'm sure there are quite a few others that either I'm forgetting about or that others use regularly. Sometimes you just have to be creative and make something that will work or improvise (the reason I have a screwdriver handle covered in clutch hub teeth marks :-)
Add to that list a connector pin and socket extrating tool and crimpers for repairing/replacing wire and connector bodies.
Yeah, I'm a Bit of a Tool Hoarder, In my Circle, I'm famous for having 5 of every tool known to man. What can I say, it's a sickness.... But I will not pay JIMS Tools prices for a bent nipple shiny thingy if i'm only gonna use it once.....Thanks for the list, I figure the thread will help the next nooby.
