the old original type paper used in the aftermarket clutch discs soaks up the oil and makes the clutch become sticky and drag oem discs are all but gone
the red ALTO disc or the more expensive alto or Barnett kevlor is all we use today - with put the spring and ball steel plates and we use the ram jet to hold the hub still when you pull the clutch in -- some guys don't but its like 10 bucks
the plastic disc that slips over the fingers - I think it has what 5 adjustments? anyways it works with a little messing with it - it ends that grunt when you take off - stops the shell from wobble -- I used those and the more expensive one that has the shims -- I gave up on the whole mess not because it didn't work. I wanted something more advanced -- Rivera Primo Pro Clutch Kit - PC-1000-A -- this is the cats meow! if you have high hp engines or stock this is the ideal set up -- I love the no clunk when it goes in gear - ALWAYS find netural - no more of that hunting for it - even at a red light - you stop - click its in netural - simple install and adjustment - comes with a huge sealed bearing that goes where all the stock bearings go -- no more of that having to grease your bearings time to time if you run a dry primary -- it has 1 draw back -- its like $450 to $500 -- I have one on my 1979 and 1 on my 1984 -- set it and forget it --

Got all that for my old clutch by using the kevlar plates, the ram jett and an aluminum pressure plate all for about $100. Clutch hooks well enough I spun the output shaft in the flywheels on one motor.
Did a complete Rivera clutch and primary belt system, ran it about 2 months before I yanked that clattering bastard, always sounded like the primary was coming part with the clutch in and it didn't feel a bit different than the old one

I'd get some serious weird looks hitting the hangout spots with the vented primary cover on it, one guy came over offering to get his pickup so I could haul home. Decided it was coming out after that.
