Did some current tests as suggested.Tested current on top of the coil Showed 10.2.Heres where it gets strange.I removed ignition wires and retested.Coil showed 12.6 top and bottom.Hooked ignition wires back up it showed 10.2 again???
A Battery Tender is NOT a Charger....It is a Maintainer, you will not get a complete charge to the battery unless you have a 6 amp CHARGER or higher. A tender will only bring it up to the rating of the unit....

Actually I have an original 1 amp motorcycle Charger that works perfectly... calculate charge required, based on Voltage, then charge for how many hours required to bring battery to 100%... perfect!!!
Do Not ever, overcharge...it is the absolute number one Killer of lead acid batteries!!! ask any [honest] battery person...
A charging Device of any kind will only do so up to the amperage rating it puts out..... Batteries only store that voltage/ amperage to probably maybe 1 Volt/amp above the chargers rating. That's why when your rides charger is running at full tilt it runs at 14+ Volts, and (if stock) up to 22Amps output.....

Charging rate... Yes.. That's why it takes a 1 amp charger twice as long to bring a Battery up to the same potential as a 2 Amp...and 4 times as long as a 4 amp...
I prefer Not to be in a hurry..Amps is Amps, and Volts is Volts..
My old 14 amp Charging system does just fine...as I do Not have much "draw"... don't even run with the Lights on..and Kick start normally also...But, it is not at it's best when hooked to an AGM battery..Which seem to take a higher Voltage [potential] vs a Conventional flooded cell battery...
All them amps is for "Accessories"
