I'm building a relatively cheap basket case shovel (1980-80" FL) and got a set of ultima 40" drag pipes for it. (Cheap I know, moving on) The problem is that no where, anywhere on the internet, can I find what freaking bracket I need for the rear mounting. All other pipes i've ever got in the past listed the respective mounting bracket to use and the floorboard mount adapter (that part I can figure out).I have two shovelhead drag pip brackets laying around my shop and neither fits by a long shot. I was hoping someone on here has used these drag pipes in the past and can give me an idea on bracket.
the Part number is 60-204, you can find them all over the net, but never with brackets listed.......
Funny i just went thru this today..... dug thru all my ole brackets couldnt find anything......tig welded a 1/4-20 bolt on back side and use a piece of flat stock...pipes look like floating no clamps...touched weld with dab of silver paint....done. Neighbors kid no money.....freebee.....
yea I just did one as well but I had a bracket - it is made of round stock with a pair of horizontal flat end tabs with 5/16 holes in them - then it has 2 threaded studs that slide into the rear part of the frame then the clamps attach to the tabs - had to space it a bit to get them to look right but that is the bracket that works
sorry I have no idea what its from other then its for a right side 2 pipe shovel
I was trying to avoid making one as Fabricating things of that nature isn't my strongest suit, but I will if I have to. I have two brackets with the holes to take the specialty exhaust slider bolts, and i have those bolts too. Problem is my brackets no where near line up. One is way to long and the other one (which is clearly for a shovel as it mounts up) has the holes in the bracket going up and down, no clue how you would mount to that.
hopefully someone else on here knows the bracket....I'm told that it's a stock bracket but I've never seen one of that variety that was stock
this is one of our sale machines we just are finishing up new motor complete and the entire bike gone through and brought up to good running its an 80 FX
