Default Wheels

If I want to swap my original mags off my 84 FLH80 with spiked wheels off an 2004 heritage Softail will they work and what do I need to do as far as for the drive gear and rotors and the Speedo? Thanks in advance

While not impossible...that swap would be way more trouble than it is worth...

Just the axle size change would make it a PITA... Not something I would do...
Besides... I Like the old "Turbine" mags on the Shovels...

FWIW, you can put 3/4 axle bearings in newer wheels. The OD is the same. I thought the softails used 3/4 axles until about 06 or so? Or maybe just some of them?

Find spoke wheels of the same vintage as your bike. If needed, re-lace with fresh stainless steel spokes, this is by far the easier path to the look you are after. Not only will you have axle issues, you will then need to tackle bolt spacing for rotors, sprockets and wheel spacers. A major PITA. This time, take the easy road. Good luck.

But you have to make a 3/4 inner spacer...easier to use adapters...the front wheels changed several years before the rear...

Rotors won't fit...different hubs will require machining/spacing ...speedo drive issues...I have access to machine shop, and could do it very cheap...but I wouldn't fool with it
