Plug chops
For info, New re-pop oem style mufflers (Which were crazy quiet) now with most of the guts removed and thunder torques (lollipops) in the ends.
oem uncut Oval air cleaner housing With new k and n filter
later kehein butterfly with the fast idle, four position choke. Has been modded with the Andrews pump bowl (same as early type) enlarged hole, plugged pump bypass. I have changed a tall thin No. 80 pump nozzle (which was a stream rather than a spray) for The earlier stubby no. 60 and positioned correctly.(All as recommended in donnys and easyriders tech tips books)
currently running what I think is an 88 pilot (although could be 68-it was difficult to tell) and a 160 main.
In the picture plugs 1 and 2 (front and rear) were fitted new and ran for around 8 miles on low throttle( 1/4 max)And the Insulator looks a reasonable colour to my (uneducated) eye
third plug is a front-fitted new, Immediate WOT through the gears then engine cut. No colour to the Center electrode, but definitely lean looking on the outer one.
any thoughts? I now have 170,175 and 180 mains and 65 to 88 pilots. Bike runs great, doesnt bog or speed up if you back off full thottle
thanks as always-UK Jon
picture the plugs under these conditions - unless you drive it all the time WOT then this is the way to read them
