Been doin it for years... Literally since they were new!!!
If you mismatch components nope won't be worth a ****!!!
BTW I have hauled down a fairly robust dragbike with the original PM caliper that is half the size of the original FX caliper... properly matched components!!!

Pad material makes all the difference in actually stopping - the better you stop thee more the pad costs and its not a lot to use get SBS sintered - EBC HH instead

Maybe... Depends..
I have had best luck with organic pads on Cast...and sintered, on Stainless... Like same Materials grab each other ...actually Gall, great co-efficient of friction...= great stopping, = Short Lifespan!!!
Too Much lever pressure??? go to a Smaller [within reason] master cylinder... Been discussed here many times.. Or work on Hand Strength!!!!!

Are there any brake caliper option for the single FLH fork leg besides the factory banana caliper?
Any adapters to fit a newer caliper? I do lik ether looks of the original banana one though.

Thanks

Twizted, you mentioned having a axle taken down to 3/4.

Seems pretty straight forward, except the bushing part. I assume the bushing goes where the beveled transition would of been? What type of bushing?

Thanks again.
