Default Automatic oiler delete

Hey all, I picked up a '74 FLH a couple of month ago. I'm going to delete the auto oiler and want to do it right. I guess I could just plug the meter tube/line and run a seal O ring chain? I'd rather just do away with the whole constant feed and return thing set up to the primary. I'm guessing they did that to keep fresh oil in the primary? So what am I missing? Would that be the same thing?........plug the feed and return line openings and then just re-route delete the feed line? And if so would I need a more modern (modern being a relative thing here) oil pump? I ask because I'm not sure how much pressure would build on the deleted line from the pump or. I looked for a thread regarding this but didn't see one, if there is one kindly point me there. Thanks

Here ya go.
BTW. I've never heard of an "O" ring primary chain. You still need lube in the chain case. Secondary drive chains however do come in an "O" ring style and it would be wise to run one so you can shut off that automatic chain oiler. Use a manual chain lube and keep the oil off your rear tire and wheel.

Are you talking about the line that drips on the rear drive chain? You can just turn the screw on the oil pump all the way in, and turn it off.

Kind of confusing isn't it. He talks about oil in the primary the "O" rin chains.

Yep ... I started to comment but didn't want to add "further confusion" to the brew :<(

I wasn't referring to the primary, just the final. I should have been more specific.

Default Thanks

panz4ever seemed to know exactly what I was asking . Thanks fellas, I should have been more specific I shouldn't have assumed you know I meant the final and not primary chain. I've never heard of a sealed O ring primary either. And eventually I'd like to go with a closed belt primary so any input on that would be appreciated. And I need to spend more time figuring out the mechanics of replying and such. Not sure if my replies are showing on the specific response post or not.
