So I'm sitting here thinking about the 70's. My first new Harley was a Superglide and my buddy rode a Low Rider. If memory serves me correctly his bike seemed to have more rake then mine. Did HD use a different frame, or am I just getting senile in my old age?

Thanks fellas! I dug thru some old sales brochures this afternoon and found a mention of longer forks in one off them. I have been having this dream off building a bike that will take me back to my younger days. I think I will clone the bike in this picture
I hope you don't make an exact clone of that; choose different fwd controls. That brake pedal is bass ackwards! I always have switched mids to 80-81 Wideglide stock forward controls.
I will just be going for the general look. No forward controls for me, my legs are just to short. I used to hate that front fender now I like it. I used a 21" front wheel on everything, now the 19 looks fine. Spoke wheels and 3.5 gallon tanks are a must. I have my eye on a basket case fx fatboy for $4k, so far I haven't pulled the trigger, I think the price is a bit high. What do you guys think?
FX was the basic model, followed by FXE starting in 1974. In 1977 they introduced the FXS Lowrider. That came with split tanks, the tach and speedo mounted on the dash, different handlebars and also the mag wheels. Always liked the FXS series. I think is it is still one of the best looking Harleys that were made.
From the 1978 sales brochure...
