I have a chance to pick up this 79 Flh up non running, motor rolls and,so does the bike, gears shift, seems to be very original, only two apparent previous owners. Previous owner fell ill and it literally sat in a snow for what ive been told a couple years lol. Asking $2500. Any and all input appreciated. I can turn a wrench but im no master, also eager to learn. Thanks!

For me it would depend on why it's not running. Is the motor bad or just hasn't been started in a while?
I see a lot of non original parts and others will probably spot more but wheels, seat, bags, exhaust, battery cover, etc. Most of that doesn't matter unless you really desire an original bike
At that price, it's probably an ok deal but plan to spend some time and money to get it right. Sitting around is not kind these old girls.
Here is my 79 FLH that I paid $3k for and it was running. I've probably spent close to 2k getting it right but I love it. This is mostly original.
Nice scoot! Ill rephrase original to non molested. Im thinking less than also. As far as compression test beings its not running is a cold test accurate? The fringe will be tossed lol. I believe it was just left to sit as it was his pride n joy at one time
Thanks. If it turns over and has compression you are getting a good deal.
I've had to fix a lot of things on mine but parts are available and the guys on this forum are a tremendous resource. You will enjoy it.
