My FXR is the same, I couldn't believe it. I wanted to put in an LED headlight bulb - HA! Ain't happening with the big heatsink hanging off the end.

In canada the discussion about a LED headlight takes a turn for the worse BUT his heat sink is sticking out in front

We're hoping to get some American input on that topic.

Jeez, my glasses broke when I saw those two pics.

When I got my shovel I had to do a ton of rewiring and I spent a lot of time in that nacelle. I figure the reason there are so many connectors in there is so they could prewire subassemblies then just make the connections real quick at final assembly.

I just re-wired my 81 Fatbob and thought I would clean up the wiring behind the headlight. Not really possible if you keep all the buttons and switches. It adds up really quick.

This!!!
I have done more than a few.. all with O.E. connectors and Color code... I am continually amazed be the sheer number of folks who do Not Realize that the HandleBar controls are Modular...each side with it's own harness then a lighting harness then an ignition/control/information harness...all modular... ie. No Need for Wire Cutting.. a small bit of Thought and Effort before the wire cutters!!!! Even the MoCo made different length harnesses...
