Clutch Question
Before I got this bike someone took out the compensator and replaced it with a solid.
I put it back together they way it came apart and assumed it was correct. Yeah I know about assume...
At this point I have almost the whole back of the bike off. I need to get a grip of parts. I'm replacing the chain even though it's fine now.. it has been used as a grinder.
I wonder if I can still get James gaskets for it..
There is a God.
So on the alignment issue, you probably ought to go through the service manual and perform the alignment procedure. The motor, trans, and rear axle all have to be square and aligned to each other. I would start by pulling the inner primary off then inspecting everything and building back from there, keeping in mind the procedure to align it all. I did this on my EVO and I can't remember if I did it for the shovel or not.

Now that everything is cleaned up I can get the whole assembly in and out in under 5 min.
The clutch is working fine now too.
Im kinda glad the clutch wasn't working right...Had it worked fine, who knows how long till I found that metal. It wasn't stuck to the drain although there was stuff on the magnet it wasn't "chunky".
Now it's on my radar...
That's pretty much what happened.
Oh yeah I want to point fingers... but I put it together.
Some lessons take years to learn.
