so the kit came with two big and two small paper washers. do the paper ones go on the end of the damper between it and the "cups" that sit in the bottom or do they go on the outside of the lower before the nut. assuming there's no washer on the outside Id think they go at the first location mentioned

They are the first thing you put in the bottom of the fork before you install the tube with the stud. I use a washer on the outside that has a rubber sealing ring on it otherwise a bit of sealant before the nut.

I know the big washer goes there but it came with a set of smaller washers. do those go between the damper stud and the "cup" that the big washer goes onto

I think you are referring to this?

Small paper gasket goes inside the cup; large paper gasket rest underneath the cup and occupies the space in the bottom of the tubes

well got everything together. so far so good. the tubes ended up only being 3.5" over the previous set. used the later upgraded seal kit. strange thing is the front end doesn't squat as much even though everything internally is the same. I just added 3.5" to the preload spacers. no more scraping the muffler on right turns. definitely not bottoming out. on hard braking. maybe the change in angle has helped with that. ordered a brake junction and a tap to clear out the bottom of the stem so I can bolt it up. with some right angle hard lines I had from a parts stash I bought it should work out perfectly to reuse the current brake lines. even when I'm sitting on it the bike doesn't look raked out. stock frame. maybe because it's a swingarm bike?

Clean looking custom you have there. Interesting looking rear shocks. Just curious...who makes them and how do you like the way they handle the load?

thanks it's a 67 FL ex police. original cases but s&s 88" rotating assembly with heads. Andrews B cam. custom made distributor with 70+ points plate. SU carb. STD 4spd Andrews gears. primo enclosed belt drive with diaphragm clutch.

fx rear fender and oil tank/battery box. original 3.5g tanks. 70s disc brake swingarm. Jay brake caliper.

original front end with +4 tubes and dual jay brake. wide glide front fender.

16" rear and 19" front.

they're actually really nice. easy to adjust. I almost bought them for my new bagger but opted for another company only because a friend helped develop them. I'm going to sell them only because I want the more vintage look
