Ron Trock (SR) had em first... S&S has (had) them.. If yer by DeLand down there... look up Kirby at Kirby's Vee Twin.
Guaranteed he at least Knows where to get them...as He Still races Nitro Harleys...and if ya ain't runnin Steel (iron) cylinders with Nitro... You have a death wish...
I ran them on my Gas Bikes... cause Easy...
Axtell is another company that made cast iron EVO cylinders and other performance parts too.
I happen to have a new in the box never installed or run set of Axtell cylinder for an EVO. Just never got around to using them.
The sound
its a heck ofa fun ride. Tons of low speed torque, smooth easy handling. The 1976 brakes are underwhelming, stock gearing means I ride it like the speed limit is still 55. Secondary roads are a delight to thump along flattening the hills. The living, breathing connection to the past (my past) adds a high satisfaction quotient.
(I hope this plays well)
The brakes can be upgraded. IIRC, 5 speed aftermarket trannies are available. I guess the engine is solid mounted.
Go to the Harley Drags... Hell, there is two separate National events in FL... Or, try to find a Shovelhead with extensive Port/Head Work, and real Compression...with a reasonable cam... good luck
OH YEAH!!! That's it. That's the sound we love. That is a sweet looking ride. Looks like a brand new, un-ridden FX. That 3 gallon tank means a lot of stops, and omg, those handlebars were the first thing I got rid of nearly 50 years ago.
Thanks very much. It does deviate some inside and outside from stock as it was completely done 11/21 - 4/22. Even though it was a complete bike when I found it, even started after some coaxing a complete rebuild was in order. Its now a solid motorcycle, pulls hard, handles great and delivers more smiles per miles on my face. Some things that were original had to be replaced during the initial shakeout 1500 mile after build completion but I saved everything. Small stuff, tach was replaced with an 82, ignition switch has a modern upgrade but retained the 2 position ignition on - one with no lights or tach. I even went back and spliced some original handlebar switches back to replace the Chinese junk that failing. Shocks are progressives and the for internals were reworked with progressive springs and later HD bits. Flywheel assembly is an S&S 84 20 over, matched pistons and 450s matched torque cam. I have an original black new looking seat but use the Mustang wide touring as a major comfort upgrade. The petcock is now a Pingle. I ended up having to swap the 1976 gas tank for 1982. A few more subtle nods to getting things the way I like, reliable. Its my backroad pleasure bike and shovels are a big part of my past, enough said.

I can remember standing in a parking lot and hearing some approaching motorcycles.
I'd stop what I was doing, just to listen to them pull into the lot.
Today all you hear is 15 different stereos blaring long after the motors are shut down.
Getting us ready for electric bikes I guess.
I always figured the stereos are necessary to keep the riders entertained as the bikes are boring
