Default Piston Facing

Just about ready to button up my top end but I have some questions about the pistons.

I know the OEM pistons require you to face them a certain way and orientate to either exhaust or intake etc. The guy I had do my top end valve job and hone my cylinders included a set of Superior brand pistons which he recommended with a set of Hastings rings. From what I see when compared to the OEM pistons, these aren't marked to show front/rear facing and the exhaust/intake pockets look to be the same size - instead of being different sizes. OEM also has the little notch on the pin hole to show facing. Everything I see with these doesn't show me how to face them.

He told me these are omni-directional but I wanted to make sure. I was a little put off by the pistons being Chinese but this guy does great work and has built some really really quality bikes. I'm not really questioning him at all - he's just really busy and I don't want to keep bugging him with stupid questions. 1984 80".

It looks omni directional, the valve pockets are both the same. I tell you though I don't like the cast in support piece, in the pic looks like there's gaps in the casting.

My other 2 cents. I'd rather buy quality pistons, American made for my American bike.

I'm of the same opinion on American pistons but my guy is comfortable with these. I'm weird with this type of thing but the cylinders were honed and rings fitted with these pistons specifically and my ADD would mess with me.

Wondering what quality brand of piston would you look for?

It looks to be a copy of a JCC piston the one picture has a circle on the side that is the location they put the company hallmark JCC

it might just be a neutral wrist pin location piston - JCC would be an off set - you need to measure wrist pin hole to skirt distance if its off set them location matters

Box says China and the brand is marked Superior. I don't know much about them other than that.

JCC pistons have a small boss on them (as do factory pistons). That boss is located on the pinion side when installed

Yes, I know certain brands/OEM have notches/marks etc to show. These don't have anything. The wrist pin looks to be center too with no offset to suggest facing either. Again - my guy said it doesn't matter which way and he's pretty legit. I was just more questions here to get further info instead of bugging him.
