Default fuel tap
with the fuel tap lever pointing down on a 80 fat bob tanks in that on the run or reserve position

AFAIK for stock valve
Run is down
OFF is horizontal
Up is reserve

thats what i thought. with the lever turned down its on. turned up reserve

Are the positions not stamped in to the ring around the lever? Usually an arrow on the lever too.

thanks i just thought my arrow pointed the other way thats why i asked the question ill have to look again maybe i was wrong

One way to fine out, try to start it if it don't start its in the wrong position.

Hate it when I run out of gas only to find the fuel tap on reserve.
I think I need a gauge I can look at. My wife used mileage to know when to find a station.

IT'S HOW ITS BEEN CHECKED FOR ABOUT 125 YEARS NOW

Just reset the trip meter on your speedo every time you fill up. These tractors get 30 -35 MPG. I’ts not rocket science.
