let me know what you need to know -
and don't say everything unless you really don't know.....
do you have a manual -
can you take off an inner primary?
You should be able to put new seals in, with the trans
mounted on the bike (I don't know your year and model).
You still have to take the primary and clutch off. It is not
that much more work, to pull the trans. It is a lot easier
to clean up the trans, and check it for leaks when it
is on a work bench.
My primary has holes all the way through for the
chain adjuster. A little oil was seeping through, those holes.
I cut 2 bolts, coated both with loctite and gasket sealer.
I put those in the back of the primary just to be sure.

before you pull apart check to see if the nut is loose or if a seal is damged. try to determine why it was leaking.
you need to secure the trans sprocket from spinning to get the nut loose(reverse thread). there is a lock tab you will need to bend open to remove the trans nut. there is a trans sprocket tab that locks the sprocket and the spacer together.(kinda tricky to line it up but very important to stop leaks, look for it in the dissasembly)
inspect the lip on the trans where the seal goes for damage.no cracks or pieces broken out,"missing"
there are 2 seals you will be dealing with. trans seal (large one) main drive seal(small one)
a custom made seal puller is needed for the main drive gear seal. ( i have grinded on a very small steel chisel to get the right "hook" to knock out this seal.)be carefull not to damage the end of the drive gear( its easy to use too big of a hammer. i got a real tiny one for this job) the trans seal can be removed with a standard seal puller. (like one used for wheel seals)
ok. are ya with me so far?
