voltage regulator clip

I've got a 1980 fxef with a unique issue. Every couple rides the voltage regulator comes unplugged. I'm worried about burning up a stator or something. Father in law mentioned an alleged clip that could solve this problem? Any knowledge to be shared?

After you get your clip a little dielectric grease on the terminals will help to insure you have a good contact and this also helps keep the moisture out. And YES thats a sure way to cause damage to your charging system having a loose connection going to the stator.
Another one of those 10 cent parts that can save you 100's of dollars and a lot of grief.
