Default Shovelhead module

I just got an 82 FLH with no spark, I ordered a twin tech module, with the cup installed I put the module in and I'm getting no flash on the module. I checked for voltage on the coil checks good. The coil is a new 5 ohm. I'm not sure I have top dead center but I should still get spark? I am definatly a bigginer so any assistance would be helpful.

I dont know about that specific ignition but most can be started if you center the plate. if youre not getting spark or a light on the box, double check the connections, also Ive gotten bad ignitions right out of the box, from different manufactuers. did it start before you put the new ignition on it?

Default Used my budies loggin, now I'm here.

Its a Datona Twin Tech model 1005. I'm new to the bike. Just bought the bike a week ago. I was told it was stored for two - two and half years.
I am thinking I have gotten a new BAD module.

Default Module install

I had to retrofit the cup in order to install this module. I am was told the motor was rebuilt just before it was stored. Turns over like a champ! Just no spark.

Daytona TwinTec says the 1005 module requires the use of a 3 ohm single fire ignition coil.
Perhaps you should go to their website or call them for complete info on how to set up your ignition.

Yes, single fire ignition requires a single fire coil, or dual coils, if your using the old coil that may be your problem.

Single fire fires one cylinder at a time, dual fire fires both cylinders.

You should try checking your battery terminals...
