Question Primary/chain oiler

Ok so i decided to take the primary and chain self oilers off the Shovel. After i battle the clutch hub off i will be all tore down. On the diagram i have it says to leave one of the lines or ports on for a crankcase breather. I have a 1/8 fitting and 1/4 fitting that i have removed from the engine/oil pump. The larger had the little line in it feeding the chain oiler. Which one do i need to make into a breather? Why do i decide to do this in June Thanks for any help.

The 3/8 in vent line off the right engine case has a tee on it That 3/8 in line that runs to the inner prim case (below the prim oil feed line about in the middle of the inner prim ) This is the line I would vent Run the 3/8 in line above the back of the inner prim and put a 3/8 in Uni-filter on it Now where you took that 3/8 in line off the tee either cap off the tee or remove the tee connection and reconnect the two lines so you engine still vents into the top of the oil tank

Also when you put the new primary chain lub into the prim case don't bring the level much higher than the starter ring gear off the clutch basket Too much oil or ATF in there will make a mess I guess this is why I like belt primary's

I will vent the primary with the feed line since it is the highest one on the inner primary. But i capped both ports ( chain and primary oilers) off. Do i need to make one of them a crankcase breather? It seems like the line that oiled the chain also vented the crankcase??

I capped both of the 1/8 npt fittings. The small line (the one that had wire around it used for keeping the 2 bolts from twisting out) is the line i planned to use for a vent. it still has the rubber line one it so i planned to route it down to the bottom so it points down. Also i put a fitting in the back of the crankcase with a 90 degree fitting so it also points down to prevent water getting in the crankcase.

I think this will work Make sure you have a good seal on the area around the starter solenoid Oil can make a mess !
