That would be someones opinion...I would think condition would matter more than anything...any Sturgis is collectible. NADA has the 80 model having highest value with the 82 being second for whatever that's worth.
Thanks Tom
Im thinking of buying a shovel at reasonable prince and good conditions. Was just curious about a collectable one that ive found recently. The seller asks $17k Id rather offer not more thn 15k. At least all i want is a working shovel even if not collectable = ) Maybe a FLH or FXEF would cost less.
And the one you have pictured is not 100% original. No way I'd pay 17 or 15 k. You should be able to find a nice shovel for under 7 grand. I paid $5000 for a nearly all original 1975 FLH with nearly every chrome accessory and doo dad known to man.
I don't think any shovels are worth that much, half of that maybe. That bike was a nicer model not necessarily a special model there were 1833 made that year, they actually made less FX's and FXS's that year than that one.
Been looking at SturgisBike.com have we ? 17K is way too much 10 -12 is ball park for that bike and come tax time it will probably be down around that .
Hi guys is the 1982 FXB the most collectable Sturgis ?
Hello,
I'm the owner of this FXB Sturgis
i agree the price could be high for the US market,
but in Italy 12000 euros, is the average price for a good running shovel,
i saw some fxb sold here for 18000-20000 euros.
You know, if you buy an old Triumph in Italy, you pay for it the double than in England or in Usa , is the same for an old Bmw in Germany ....
Price is the result for a good bike but also for expensive custom and shipping costs for an amount of 3000 euros and some months arguing with italian Registration Offices
NOT FOR SALE , But ,I just got an american ( bl ack and orange ) 82 ecellent cond.( back of garage at dealer ) 8900. and have adde back a couple of accesseries missin and wouldnt ask more than 12-13000.
