Thanks but that's not it. No emblem, it was a decal. No holes for screws (or studs, however it was attached).
According to the pictures in the service manual, FLH wore the eagle wing, FXE, FXWG, and FLB wore bar and shield. The image of the FXEF is dark but the shadow appears to be larger and more elongated than the bar and shield.
My father has an 1980 FXEF. The original emblem was a black and silver bar and shield logo... The mounts cracked on the tanks and he replaced them with aftermarket tanks... The emblem also said "AMF" next to the shield... I believe it was below the shield? I can't remember now if it was a seperate decal or a shield with the AMF attached? I'm actually looking for Original ones to restore the bike. Haven't found any yet?
