Default 1983 flht

I had some extra cash and wanted to pick up an extra bike while they are so cheap....but I couldn't make up my mind...I wanted to get either a shovel or a dresser, so I split the difference and got both. I picked 1983 FLHT with 13000 original miles for $4500...even came with the tour pac and the chrome goodies for it...not in the pics. It still has the VIN sticker, rivets in the timing cover, instruction sticker on the "ham can" and a sticker on the tail light from a dealer that has been closed for over 10 years...the biggest thing wrong with it is the non stock garage paint job...tell me what you think.

OK I will start the questions now....What carb will be the easiest to adapt to the stock air filter....S & S or CV? Do they make anything to keep the hinge-less tops from blowing off the hardbags?

Nice bike at a very good price. 13K ain't even broke in yet!

have an 84 FLH. Are the covers on the bags different? Have not had to worry about mine blowing off (same cannot be said for my 65 though...bungee vords holds the tops down).

Nice find for the price & mileage , clean . S&S might adapt to the stock air can but you'd have to dance with the choke arm a bit , never tried that configuration myself .

Saddle bags only thing you can do with them is make sure the sealing foam in new and flexible and get new locks for them . Any slop with the locks and they will shake loose , lost more than a few of those on road trips . I also drill a small hole in the tab / hinge on the front of the bags and drop a cotter pin through so if it does shake loose it won't fly completely off on you .
