Gear set
ok took the tranny apart -- main shaft is ok-- the bushing in the 4 th gear is moving in/out and spinning around --
heres what im gonna do --- 3rd gear cluster close ratio -- 2 new brass bushings -- 2 new caged bearings -- countershaft is pure junk and worn out bad -- replace that -- andrews 4th with "O" ring -- new main drive bearing -- the big shielded bearing has no shield so i got a new 1 -- 2 new dogs -- new bushing in main shaft for push rod and new push rod and heavy duty bearing -- new cir-clips -- new thrust washers -- saddlebag rails main drive "o" ring that goes in the main drive seal -- full seal not the 1/2 *** one -- 1st is a 2:44 and its in good shape (amazed) so he will wind up with a decent tranny -- and he said he just paid some shop $800 to fix the tranny -- yeah well -- i guess when you new to bikes they see a chump and figure he will never find out --
i ALMOST have him talked out of those fish tail nightmares --
other stuff is like allballs starter a sifton 414 cam -- stock steel small diameter push rods and the solid drop in adaptors -- its got a dyna S ignition -- got a used swing arm that doesnt have the shock mounts hacked off -- new set of kevlar clutches and the steels with the rattlers -- few other items and he will be in good shape
im still amazed he thought the bike ran good with a huge over cammed and over geared mess -- and a wayyy to big main jet --
