My 71' motor died. Just dropped a rebuilt 78' in and got everything about ready for bike week. Started 2nd kick and spewed over qt of oil out chain oiler on oil pump. The builder had a screw where the adjuster screw goes, but it was a regular screw, not tapered to close off oiler.
Can someone give me the size and thread of screw that wll just plug the threaded oiler hole (not the adjuster screw hole). I assume it's NPT, but not sure. I just want to plug it off in the event I can't locate a new adjuster screw in time for Bike Week.
1/8 NPT too big. I'm trying to get an oiler screw HD# 63614 72, but won't get it until after bike week. There's a fuel line size nipple in the rear chain oiler threaded port. Tried coarse, fine sae, nothing fits.
take the threaded part that you are not able to figuer out and bring it to a local hardware store, the shop keeper will be able to tell you what it is and give you a plug and or a tap to fix what you have -- jz
