Default flt drive sprocket

So I'm in the midst of reassembling my 81 flt/chopped/bobbed/frankenbike. I had ordered a 24 tooth sprocket to lower my rpm at highway speed, and am having chain clearance issues. Previously I had a 22 tooth with no issue. Anyone managed to acheive this? I'm not willing to clearance the transmission housing and inner primary that seems bad juju. Or does anyone know of where I could find a smaller rear sprocket to replace the giant cast monstrosity thats there?

To get what you want you need to drop the rear from 51 to 47 tooth and stay with a 22 or 23 on the front , it'll give you a decent highway cruise and the chain gets shortened a couple links clears the primary & starter housing better . Can't remember what setup the early FLT's had sorry .

From your description you have what is left of an enclosed chain drive...no other sprocket is a direct bolt on...you will have to get a wheel off a "normal" chain drive bike...or get/make a spacer to make up the difference when you remove the " monstrosity"
