Yep , rat tail file and some elbow grease has done the job before too ............

I am glad that you got it to work. Those drives come in different ratios and they also come in different thicknesses. I highlighted the one that fits my 84 single disc setup. I bit the bullet and ordered OEM from my H-D dealer. Partly because of ease of returning if it didn't fit.

Along with filing/grinding/milling a too thick one, you can also add washers to a too thin one.
