Pistons
Just got word back from the machine shop. I need standard intake valve guides, 2 over exhaust guides for the heads and 20 over for pistons. What is a good piston to use? Can I go 9:1 pistons without any head work? Keith Black, Weisco, jp cycle stock? I will go what the consensus says.

and the engine is? 74" or 80"? 9:1 with single plug heads will ping its *** off - -- dual plug the heads -- have the squish band set --
or this for a 74" -- http://www.ebay.com/itm/ENGINE-PISTO...ab6895&vxp=mtr -
for an 80" but 8:1 same brand

2 things i have not seen them in the new book from V twin
and BIH is right on with his answer Plus 1 for me as well
exactly what john says-- don't be mislead into fashion parts -- lighter my be a good thing but without re-balance your gonna shake your teeth lose..
the ones I listed are stock like weight and cast for long life -- im going on 5 years and untold miles on a set in my 80"
the coating on them is only for brake in it wears off -- check automotive pistons like speed pro they use the same coatings -- I wouldn't use the rings I would get total seal rings to go with the pistons..
email this guy --- keithj@totalseal.com tell him the brand of piston and use the total seal -- hey IMO
