I would like to offer some advice if you are going to mount the rear fender to the swingarm instead of struts off the frame "ears."
Build your mounts strong. I mean like military tank strong.
My fender is mounted off the swingarm and all that bouncing around broke several sets of mounts until I made them out of THICK material.

Thanks for the advice. I still have the original rear fender but Im really not good at fabricating anything. I would probably just buy the fender and then make some rear mounts like you said. I dont know anyone in the Harley Scene for advice on how to do this kind of work but there is a pretty good shop locally with some cool people in it that may be able to help with ideas.

I like the look of the bike, but I would want a rear fender as well.

I really like the look of your bike. I like just enough rear fender to protect the cheeks. My rear fender doesn't stop rain and dirt. If I go fast enough it will rooster tail over the handlebars. I love it! I don't ride to stay clean and safe anyway.
