Found A 82 Electraglide Opinions Wanted?!?!?
I found a 1982 Electra Glide Shovel. Its blue and silver all original except air ceaner and exhaust and in incredible shape with 23000 miles. I hear a lot of people dont like the FLHTs because the speedo, square backbone, along with other small things. The bike is $4,000 and im really tempted to pull the trigger. But I wanted some opinions never rode a shovel or electraglide more than around the block. THANKS IN ADVANCE

Just be aware that you cannot customize it a lot...
It looks BAD if u take the saddlebags and fairing off.. a lot less options to make it look cool or achieve different looks than a 4 speed
If want a bagger and want to keep it that way, go for it

my '80 FLT is not on the road yet...it's close...so I can't comment on ride or handling. But aside from the questionable stock front fairing, I don't get why so many are down on the early rubbermount touring bikes. As far as I can tell their setup is the same as the later FLs but with a cooler looking and sounding motor. Swap out the fairing for a batwing and one would end up with a classic cruiser. Here's what I'm after with mine except with ceramic satin black pipes:

Cool bike... building one right now. That year has a few quirks that you can live with, or get rid of buy installing parts off newer touring bikes

all my tins, bags and what appears to be an aftermarket batwing
fairing are matte black. exhaust and shields are satin black
ceramic, all chrome I could pry off is satin black powdercoat
including crash bars. all other chrome is matte brushed, as is
any aluminum that had been polished. cylinders flat black but
the s&s heads are glass bead blasted. motor and trans cases
are untouched, just as clean as I could get them.
attached are a couple pics where I'm at.
btw can anyone tell me what year/model this tank is? I need
to figure out where to start looking for a 2-up saddle.
