Default Front Chain Baffle

I have a 1968 FLH I'm the second owner and I had clutch issue so I took both inner and outer primary covers for to get them looking better now I'm putting it back together and I notice that there a Front Chain baffle that belong in there. At least the parts catalog said there one so I picked one up and I have no Ideal where it goes. I have some ideal but it just doesn't look like it would work. There wasn't one on there when I tool it apart. Any ideals or help or should I just toss it?

Thanks that what I thought wasn't sure. My transmission studs don't extend that far out there almost flush with the inner primary. And it looks like the adjuster is in its way. I have those nylon lock nuts thats buried in the countersink of the inner primary. Is there two nuts on both them studs?

No interference when mounted...

The nylon lock nuts go on all 4 mounting studs to the tranny case. Behind each is a flat washer. A stock inner primary is just recessed around the holes where the studs go through. The washers sit in that recessed area. If your studs are not long enough it probably means they were installed too far in the tranny case. There is about 2 threads showing on the end of each stud once the nuts are tightened.

Thanks for your help I'll pull the inner primary off again and give it a closer look. No matter how I put the adjuster on the baffle hits it. I see in the Picture looks like the baffle was ground to fit that what I'll do its not much there to grind off. Lease it will work. Thanks for you help.
