Now that winter is here, 28 degrees this morning, its about time I start to work on the bike, 14' fatbob. I have a couple ideas swirling around in the empty space between my ears... First thing I need to take care of is the pipes, I would like 2 -1 but i'm open to about anything. It would be great to get different opinions on what would look good. Please include pics if you can
find a qualified welded that can make you a bracket mount off your stock mount, cut open your pipe and gut the header, then build a 2-1 from your stock header pipe... we have done a few now for dyna's and touring bikes... works great
only pic i could find... looked great when we coated it and then he wrapped the header part
I'd say D&D Fat Cats(just about to put some on myself!) or Bob Cats, any Stage 1 ac that catches your eyes, Power Vision Tuner from Fuel Moto and Andrews 57 cams. How's that for spending your $$$?
what's the big fascination with 2-1 pipes?? I prefer the look of dual pipes myself, the performance/ sound difference has to be almost nothing.
vince & hines black short shots or big shots would look better on that bike.
there's not much to do to that bike though, it's pretty cool the way it is.
I'd throw a tinted sport windshield on, tricky part is to find one to fit over the dual headlight, may have to custom cut it yourself, but it world look great.
1'd also consider having the headlight power coated black

Big dif! 2-1 allows a big twins to scavenge and creates more power, helps the motor run cooler, and is much easier to tune. Personally I like a 2-1 look over a 2-2 as well, but am a big fan of Long fishtail pipes

......damn that's one mean looking pipe! Me likes!
Definitely do 2:1 to name some: D&D Fatcat, RB Racing (great power, light, unique, but expensive $$$$), Bassani, Vance & Hines Pro Pipe are all the great ones!
Next get yourself a good fuel tuner: Thundermax, Power Vision, or TTS.
Intake are all pretty much the same ****, just pick one you like.
..........after about 2 g's you can now think about some motor internals $$$$

oh yeah here's my bike as she sits.
Like Joe said, you can have a one-off exhaust for less than buying most exhaust systems, and the probability is that it will perform better also.
Here's one that I did from the builders kit for my Sporty...just one idea...you can sketch out anything you want and give the sketch and the builders kit to a welder and have your own, one of a kind, exhaust.
They are right on the money, I'm taking my V&H short shot staggereds, cutting off the muffler then me and my brother are going to build my own 2-1 exhaust. Got a carbon fiber replacement sleeve and end caps, going to modify one of my baffles to use in the muffler. Kind going after the same look as the D&D Bob Cat without having to pay the price for it.
