Some know that I now travel from Palm Desert to Las Vegas a couple times per month. The time finally came where I didn't need decent clothes so could take the bike and back way through 29 Palms, Amboy, and Mojave Preserve. With the road to myself it was faster than the Interstate as well. 250 miles each way in slightly less than 4 hours. There are parts where you feel like you're on a totally different planet as well as some of those old scenes from the 50's where an old town was set up with mannequins to be nuked. Great ride although the time home had some pretty wild wind (becoming quite adept though)!
Just wanted to share the token shots with people who might appreciate them.

Roy's at Amboy, went 140 miles before gas stops, with the cross and head winds fuel consumption was not what I had been hoping for
Gotta get the bike, and it rode like a champ, not a splutter or putter. For all my fear that the forks might collapse guess my wrenching is a ok!
