Lowering my Street Bob
I can't answer your question yet. I have a set of 1 inch and 1.75 inch lowering blocks from www.tamarackmw.com. I'm not sure which one I'll use. I weigh 170 pounds so maybe I can use the 1.75 kit.
First let me start by saying that I LOVE the look of a slammed bike. Its one of the first mods I did to my streetbob. BUT... IMHO I would never lower another bike. First I tried the lowering blocks and had an awful tooth jarring experience. I would get home after any ride of more than 30 minutes with a headache and sore back. After a month I switched to the 10.5 Burley's. the ride was much better but my fender would rub on just about every bump in the road. It would fray the line for the turn signal and brake lights causing me the inconvenience of taking 30 mins or so to repair it. My back could only handle about an hour or so in the saddle before acting up. I actually started trailering my bike to rallys and such. I also dreaded pulling into peoples driveway because I would scrape my frame EVERYWHERE! A buddy who rides the 10.5 Burleys weighs about 140 lbs says he doesn't scrape so badly.
In closing: It looks bad *** but it gets old quick. (in my personal opinion)
