Default What throttle body on a 127. 58 or 72... whats the largest air cleaner for each

The builder just finished up the engine on my 15 CVO water cooled street glide.

It's a 127 with a d&d boarzilla.

It put down 140/143. I have a 58mm on it now, the guy doing the tuning is thinking that it might benefit from a 72mm. But thats pretty big.

was wondering what those with experience throught, i'd like to max this thing out, and do a ton with auto performance stuff, but really lost on the bike engine.

on the 58, we have the screaming eagle extreme billet kit pictured

with the breather off, we picked up another 3, and i didn't know if there was another breather that may flow more, or if 3hp is typical loss with a filter one

i know somewhat limited on size with the front bag / radiator on the front

gonna put 2k miles on it and break her in some and see if we can't make a little more power. just trying to maximize the combo

What size injectors are you using and what is their duty cycle?

with a 72mm tb, you might lose velocity, and actually hurt the tune, I haven't looked for others TB's but isn't there something in between, 62,or 65? Again, I haven't looked. those are some pretty substantial numbers there, from a 127. would love to see the printout.

That's my thinking as well, but it will come down to the cam in the end. I run a 90mm on a 331, lol. But I'm also running a combo that everyone said wouldn't work and making good numbers out of it. The cam is really the brain of the motor.

Actually, it comes down to the entire package and if the motor wants and can use the additional air. If so, you can add the additional fuel to match and bingo-more horsepower. The whole package means compression cam, pipe, etc, but mostly the heads.
My 126" street bike is carb'ed but runs 2 "G" carbs (see sig) and the motor likes it.
Try putting that set up on a 126" with average heads, smaller cam, less compression, pipe that doesn't breathe etc and the motor will fall flat on its face.
So, will you see more power with the bigger intake without losing responsiveness and low end torque?
It depends on the entire build of your 127, especially how good your heads are, but all the other factors combined as well.
